ANCIENT and MODERN GENEALOGIES

PREFACE
This book evaluates historical knowledge as it relates to ancient and modern genealogies.
Information gleaned from social contexts, both secular and religious, are reviewed, using
modern genealogical research specialist standards: to properly reconstruct and correctly
portray real historical lives and family pedigrees.  Cultural, religious and family tradition,
(their stated facts and viewpoints), are surveyed within given ancient contexts of primary
and secondary record sources, as handed down for the benefit of our modern generation.
Modern claims of genealogical attachment to biblical records are noted, with remarks.

INTRODUCTION

Pliny the Elder, circa A.D. 23 - 79, scholar, historian, and scientific encyclopedist,
born at Novum Comum in northern Italy but mainly resident of Rome, mentions
the Phoenicians in his thirty seven book work: Natural History.  This record,
considered by some as the apex of ancient science after the time of the school
of Aristotle, stated that: "To the Phoenician people belongs the glory of having
invented letters and discovered the sciences of astronomy, navigation and the art
of war."  In Ancient Fragments, by Isaac Preston Cory, Esq., mention is made
of the Greek historian previous to the Christian era, by name called Eupolemus.
This Eupolemus notes that in the tenth generation, Abraham lived in Camarina of
Babylonia [Urie], a city of the Chaldeans, and was of noble heritage and superior
to all others in wisdom.  Abraham was stated to be the inventor of astrology and
the Chaldaean magic; esteemed of God due to his eminent and recognized piety.
Under the direction of the God of Heaven, Abraham removed and lived in
Phoenicia, and there taught the Phoenicians the motions of the sun and moon
and all other things, for which reason, he was held in great reverence, by the
Phoenician King.

Louis H. Feldman writes about "Proselytes and 'Sympathizers' in the light
of the new inscriptions from Aphrodisias", in Revue des Etudes juives,
CXLVIII (3-4), juillet-decenbre 1989, pp. 265-305; that: "The Jews'
reputed skill in astrology may likewise have proved an attraction.
The Graeco-Jewish historian Artapanus (ca. 100 B.C.E.) (ap. Eusebius,
Praeparatio Evangelica 9.18.1) states that it was Abraham who taught
the Egyptian pharaoh the science of astrology.  Similar statements are
found in pseudo-Eupolemus (ap. Eusebius, Praeparatio Evangelica 9.17.8)
and Josephus (Antiquities 1.167).

Indeed, Hadrian  (Sciptores Historiae Augustae,Quadrigae Tyrannorum 8.3)
remarks that there is no chief of a synagogue who is not an astrologer
(mathematicus), soothsayer (haruspex), or anointer (aliptes).  Moreover, in
the middle of the second century, Vettius Valens, in his astrological work,
Anthologiae (2.28,29), refers to Abraham as a most wonderful astrological
authority.  Furthermore, Abraham's skill in astrology is mentioned no fewer
than four times in Firmicus Maternus' fourth century astrological treatise,
the Mathesis (4: Proemium 5, 17.2, 17.5, and 18.1).  Firmicus' contemporary
Julian (Contra Galilaeos 356C) remarks that Abraham employed the method
of divination from shooting stars and from the flight of birds.  Since, we may
remark, proselytes are regarded as children of Abraham, himself the first
proselyte, they would presumably identify with him as an astrologer."

Critical analysis of evidence discussed within these records shows some
historical validity of the existence of an Abraham, connected with knowledge
of planetary motions, practice of an internationally recognized religious priesthood,
as well as being a teacher and communicator through letters and writings.  Secondary
evidence is thus provided for the statement given in The Book of Abraham, translated
from papyrus by Joseph Smith, Jr., from Chapter 1, Verse 31; namely:
"But the records of the fathers, even the patriarchs, concerning the right of Priesthood,
the Lord my God preserved in mine own hands; therefore a knowledge of the beginning
of the creation, and also of the planets, and of the stars, as they were made known unto
the fathers, have I kept even unto this day, and I shall endeavor to write some of these
things upon this record, for the benefit of my posterity that shall come after me."
The Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. received Hebrew language education, by the instructions
of the erudite Jew, Joshua Seixas, whose family pedigree is listed and recorded in the
book: First American Jewish Families, by Rabbi Malcolm H. Stern, FASG.

Additional secondary evidence comes from the Grammar & Alphabet
of the Egyptian Language, in which the ancient patriarchs are listed:
Phah eh         The first man, or Adam, coming from Adam -
                       Keys or right over Patriarchal right by appointment;
                       Also know as: Ba eth Ka - Adam or the first man, or first king
Ba eth Kee   The next from Adam, one ordained under him,
                       a patriarch or the right of the first born [Seth]
Ba eth Ki      The third patriarch: or right of the first born [Enos]
Ba eth Ko     The fourth patriarch from Adam the right of first born [Cainan]
Ba eth Ku     The fifth high priest from Adam [Mahalaleel]

The Pearl of Great Price and Book of Abraham indicate "the book of Abraham should
be evaluated on the basis of what it claims to be—Abraham's own account of his life."
The Deseret News, Salt Lake City, November 27, 1967, notes the finding of eleven
papyrus fragments, in the NYC Metropolitan Museum of Art.  The back of the papyri
were pasted down to paper with "drawings of a temple and maps of the Kirtland, Ohio
area."  An affidavit of Emma Smith stated that these papyri had been in the possession
of Joseph Smith, Jr.  According to this source, the Biblical creation story, the deluge,
"the records of the fathers, even the patriarchs," appear therefore as genealogical
primary source records, transcribed by Abraham from "preserved" and "kept" data,
handed down from generation to generation.  As noted by the History of the Church,
Vol. 2, Ch. 17, p. 236-238, July 1835, Joseph Smith, Jr. determined that "one of the
rolls contained the writings of Abraham, another the writings of Joseph of Egypt"
and he "was continually engaged in translating an alphabet to the Book of Abraham,
and arranging a grammar of the Egyptian language as practiced by the ancients."

From a genealogical research standpoint, "arranging a grammar of the Egyptian
language as practiced by the ancients", suggests that all the ancient patriarchs,
beginning with Adam, the Ancient of Days, were skilled in the art of record keeping.
This thought is further clarified in the Book of Moses, P of GP, Chapter 6, verses 5-8:
"And a ^abook of ^bremembrance was kept, in the which was recorded, in the ^clanguage
of Adam, for it was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit
of ^dinspiration;  And by them their ^achildren were taught to read and write, having
a ^blanguage which was ^cpure and undefiled.  Now this same ^aPriesthood, which was
in the beginning, shall be in the end of the world also.  Now this prophecy Adam spake,
as he was moved upon by the ^aHoly Ghost, and a ^bgenealogy was kept of the ^cchildren
of God.  And this was the ^dbook of the generations of Adam, saying: In the day that
God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;"  The KJV Bible record declares
in Exodus, Chapter 24, verse 4: "And Moses ^awrote all the words of the LORD . . .",
of which in Chapter 5, verse 1 of Genesis, Moses recorded: "THIS is the ^abook of the
^bgenerations of Adam.  In the day that God created man, in the ^clikeness of God ^dmade
he him; "  The cross comparison of information shows a correct match of Biblical
Genesis, Chapter 5, verse 1, with The Pearl of Great Price, Book of Moses, Chapter 6,
verse 8.  Clearly, internal source evidence suggests primary source documents, or
copies thereof, going back to the time of Adam and (Eve - the Mother of all Living),
were available to Moses, who then wrote or copied them for himself and other Israelites.


GENEALOGIES:
A Master Number beginning with three digits is given to the direct line
descending stem.  All other descending lineages are ordered according to
where they connect into the direct line of descent as sons or daughters.
They have a dash (-) to show the connection.  The Numbers are arranged
by time of birth in the family, where possible, with the direct descendant
being placed where he or she belongs by order of birth.  In cases of long
and questionable pedigrees, the lineage is shown descending down, but
with no numbering system attached.  Added commentary is author's opinion.



001:   GOD: The Eternal FATHER: AHMAN (ELOHEIM - ELOHIM)

Family of God, the Eternal Father (Ahman):
God the Father
Marriages:  God, by definition, is a couple, or husband and wife (wives)
                    combination.  When the Father said He created Man; male
                    and female created He them, in His own image, it means:
                    My immortal wife and I created our children in the image
                    of ourselves.  Each and every person born on this earth has
                    a spirit body of contained intelligence: a spirit child of God.
                    Ahman, a glorified, immortal Man, in the Meridian of Time,
                    physically associated with the mortal Mary, who was over-
                    come by the Holy Ghost, becoming the literal physical and
                    spiritual Father of Jesus Christ, His Only Begotten Son.
                    The Eternal Father was married or priesthood sealed to
                    the exceedingly fair and white virgin Mary, mortal mother
                    of Jesus Christ, prior to her conception; for that which was
                    conceived in her was of the ^cHoly Ghost.  Luke 1: 26-55
                    records the formal eternal betrothal, which was part of
                    ancient Mosaic legal and lawful wedding ceremony, as
                    announced by the angel Gabriel, who was formerly known
                    as Noah in mortality, recorded in the biblical Old Testament.
                    The angel Gabriel, or Noah, was the family head over Mary,
                    holding the keys of all living upon the face of the earth, the
                    highest patriarchal priesthood religious authority after Adam.
                    "Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed
                    art thou among ^awomen."  "The ^aHoly Ghost shall come upon thee,
                    and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also
                    that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the ^bSon
                    of God."  Consent by Mary to the terms of the contract: "Behold
                    the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word",
                    sealed the husband and wife relationship.  Joseph, a noted literal
                    descendant of King ^bDavid, by the request of God, took intelligent
                    Mary to wife, becoming the mortal protective stepfather of Jesus Christ.

The Children of 001: God, the Eternal Father
001-001:   DIRECT DESCENDANT 002: (The Only Begotten Son)
                  SON AHMAN - JESUS CHRIST - The Old Testament God: JEHOVAH
                  Jesus Christ was the eldest born spirit child of God, the Eternal Father,
                  in the spirit Kingdom or pre-existence residence of the family of Man.
                  Jesus Christ is the Elder brother of all mankind that will live on this earth.
001-002:   Billions of spirit children of Heavenly Father who refused to follow
                  Jesus Christ in the spirit Kingdom.  These non embodied spirits followed
                  Lucifer, or Satan, in the pre-existence and are numbered as one-third
                  of the the spirit children designated by Ahman to inhabit this earth.
001-003:   Billions of spirit children of Heavenly Father who have been born,
                  are now living, or will ever be born upon this earth.  Sufficiently true
                  and faithful to God in the pre-existence Kingdom, these spirits obtained
                  the right of receiving mortal bodies, in an earthly probationary state.
001-004:   An innumerable, incalculable , countless , immeasurable by man,
                  forever infinitely increasing number of spirit children of Heavenly Father,
                  residing on millions of ^aearths like this, (or, on earths glorified to a celestial,
                  terrestrial or telestial post mortal state); or in the spirit world residence of
                  Heavenly Father, awaiting their time to come to future probationary earths.
                  Moses 1: 37-39  And the Lord God spake unto Moses, saying: The ^aheavens,
                  they are many, and they cannot be numbered unto man; but they are numbered
                  unto me, for they are mine.  And as one earth shall pass away, and the heavens
                  thereof even so shall another come; and there is no ^aend to my works, neither
                  to my words.  For behold, this is my ^awork and my ^bglory—to bring to pass the
                  ^cimmortality and ^deternal ^elife of man.
001-005:   Spirit children of Heavenly Father, who willfully deny the Holy Ghost testimony
                  of Jesus Christ: The Only Begotten Son of God; putting Him to an open shame.
Family Information:
geography (location):
The place where God resides is a great Urim and Thummim, a sea of glass and fire.
To the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. the Lord revealed, "And there are many kingdoms;
for there is no space in the which there is no kingdom. . . . And unto every kingdom
is given a law." (D&C 88:37–38.)  The Prophet Abraham wrote, "And I, Abraham,
had the Urim and Thummim, which the Lord my God had given me. . . ."

"And I saw the stars, that they were very great, and that one of them was nearest
unto the throne of God; . . ."

"And the name of the great one is Kolob, because it is near unto me … ; I have set
this one to govern all those which belong to the same order as that upon which thou
standest." (Abr. 3:1–3.)

God himself, the Father of us all, once dwelt upon an earth in a mortal state,
and went through the same process as Jesus Christ himself did upon this earth.

religion:
Eternal Nature of God, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life.
And were it possible that man could number the particles of the earth, yea,
millions of ^aearths like this, it would not be a beginning to the number of His
^bcreations; for His curtains are stretched out still; and yet He is there, and
His bosom is there; and also He is just; He is merciful and kind forever;
peace, ^bjustice, truth and mercy go before His face and have no end.

time period:
Kolob was after the manner of the Lord, according to its ^atimes and seasons
in the revolutions thereof; that one revolution was a ^bday unto the Lord, after
his manner of reckoning, it being one thousand ^cyears according to the time
appointed unto that whereon thou standest [EARTH].  This is the reckoning
of the Lord’s ^dtime, according to the reckoning of Kolob.  The chronology of
this earth is related to the chronology of Kolob, the name of a celestialized
planet next to the residence of God.  D&C 88: 36-45  And there are many
^akingdoms; for there is no ^bspace in the which there is no ^ckingdom; and
there is no kingdom in which there is no space, either a greater or a lesser
kingdom. . . . And again, verily I say unto you, he hath given a ^alaw unto
all things, by which they move in their ^btimes and their seasons; And their
courses are fixed, even the courses of the heavens and the earth, which
comprehend the earth and all the planets.  And they give ^alight to each
other in their times and in their seasons, in their minutes, in their hours,
in their days, in their weeks, in their months, in their years . . . The earth
^arolls upon her wings, and the ^bsun giveth his light by day, and the moon
giveth her light by night, and the stars also give their light, as they roll
upon their wings in their glory, in the midst of the ^cpower of God.

Jah-oh-eh is the earth under the governing power of Oliblish, Enish-go-
on-dosh, and Ka[i/e/ii]-e-van-rash, which are the grand Key or in other
words, the governing power, which governs the fifteen fixed stars . . .
Oliblish, Enish-go-on-dosh, and Kaii-ven-rash, are the three grand
central powers [similar to the First Presidency] that govern all of the
other creations, which have been sought out by the most aged of all
the fathers, since the beginning of the creation, by means of the Urim
and Thummim.  The names of the other twelve fixed stars [similar to
the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles] are: Kolob (which is swifter in
its motion than the rest of the twelve fixed stars, being first in motion
and delegated to have power over others [similar to the President of
the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles] in regulation of their time, [through
the medium of Kli-flos-is-es and Hah-ko-kau-beam {similar in order
to the Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles}]), Limdi (the fifth
fixed star in its motion), Zip, Vu[v/s]el, Venist[i/j], Waine, Wa[g/y]oh-
ox-oan, Oansli, [K/Shi/Me]ble, Shin[e/s]flis, Flis and Os[e].

Research Notes:
A.  Elder Orson Pratt spoke on The Holy Spirit and the Godhead, in the open air,
     on the Temple Block [Temple Square], in Great Salt Lake City, [S. L. C., UT]
     February 18, 1855. He noted:
     "What is the name of God in, the pure language?"
     - The answer says, "Ahman."
     "What is the name of the Son of God?"
     - Answer, "Son Ahman - the greatest of all the parts of God excepting Ahman."
     "What is the name of men?"
     - "Sons Ahman," is the answer.
     "What is the name of angels in the pure language?"
     - "Anglo-man."

B.  The Being and Kind of Being God Is: The King Follett Discourse
     President Joseph Smith, Jr. delivered a discourse before about twenty thousand
     Saints at the April conference of the Church, 1844, at the funeral sermon of Elder
     King Follett.  He said: "God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man,
     and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!  That is the great secret.  If the veil were rent
     today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds
     and all things by his power, was to make himself visible,—I say, if you were to see him
     today, you would see him like a man in form—like yourselves in all the person, image,
     and very form as a man; for Adam was created in the very fashion, image and likeness
     of God, and received instruction from, and walked, talked and conversed with him,
     as one man talks and communes with another. . . . It is the first principle of the Gospel
     to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with
     him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that
     God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself
     did; and I will show it from the Bible."

002:   JESUS CHRIST: SON AHMAN (the Only Begotten Son of God)

Family of Jesus Christ (Son Ahman):
Jesus
Marriage:  John 20: 17-18  Jesus Christ asked Mary Magdalene to refrain
herself from attempting to touch or hold (chibuk) Him, at that time.   Jesus
had not yet ascended unto the Father.  Negiah, meaning "contact" or
"connection" or "touch" in Hebrew, is a notion in Jewish law (Halakha)
that restricts (or forbids) physical contact with, or touching of, a member
of the opposite sex, except for one's spouse, and immediate family.   Also,
when Mary Magdalene was asked by Jesus to speak to the brethren:
"I ascend unto my ^dFather . . . ", women needed a husband's authorized
permission, to leave home, or to legally testify in family related matters.

003:   ADAM: A SONS AHMAN (son of JESUS CHRIST by priesthood ordinance).
          Adam, being sealed to Christ as His adopted son, becomes thereby,
          a fully established prophet, priest and king; an eternal god in his own
          right and standing.  He exercises the fullness of the patriarchal priesthood.
          Adam possesses the keys of the Universe and rules over his posterity
          and the planet Earth, throughout all eternity.

          Official calling to LDS office of church patriarch, within Hyrum Smith's
          family lineage, who was the brother of Joseph Smith, Jr., created by
          revelation, restoration in Melchizedek priesthood authority of the legal
          independent final word: High Priest Patriarchal Judge.   Equivalent in
          American government, to the Supreme Court of the United States of
          America.  It judicially stands next to the LDS First Presidency, as the
          Supreme Court stands next to the Presidency of the United States of
          America.  The Melchizedek priesthood Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
          and the First Quorum of Seventy, preside in similar manner as the
          American national  legislative bodies, the United States Senate and
          House of Representatives.  Foundations of government were divinely
          established in the Charters of Freedom of the United States of America.

          D&C 107: 56-57  And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation; and,
          notwithstanding he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost,
             ^apredicted whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation.
          These things were all written in the book of ^aEnoch, and are to be testified
           of in due time.

          By the time of the end of the millennium, all of Adam's posterity who accept
          the gospel must be sealed together as one family by the power of the priesthood,
          which is the power to seal on earth, and it shall be sealed in heaven, and to bind
          on earth, and it shall be bound in heaven.

          D&C 128: 18  It is sufficient to know, in this case, that the earth will be smitten
          with a ^bcurse unless there is a welding ^clink of some kind or other between the
          fathers and the ^dchildren, upon some subject or other—and behold what is that
          subject?  It is the ^ebaptism for the dead.  For we without them cannot be made
          perfect; neither can they without us be made perfect.  Neither can they nor we
          be made perfect without those who have died in the gospel also; for it is necessary
          in the ushering in of the dispensation of the ^ffulness of times, which dispensation
          is now beginning to usher in, that a whole and complete and perfect union, and
          welding together of dispensations, and keys, and powers, and glories should take
          place, and be revealed from the days of Adam even to the present time.  And not
          only this, but those things which never have been revealed from the ^gfoundation
          of the world, but have been kept hid from the wise and prudent, shall be revealed
          unto ^hbabes and sucklings in this, the dispensation of the fulness of times.

          Moses 3: 20  And Adam gave ^anames to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air,
          and to every beast of the field.  Adam was taught by God to read and write.
          Adam and Eve were exceedingly intelligent, both before and after the Fall.

          No lesson is more manifest in nature than that all living things do as
          the Lord commanded in the Creation.  They reproduce "after their own kind."
          (See Moses 2:12, 24.)  They follow the pattern of their parentage.  Everyone
          knows that; every four-year-old knows that!  A bird will not become an animal
          nor a fish.  A mammal will not beget reptiles, nor "do men gather … figs of thistles."
          (Matt. 7:16.)

          In the countless billions of opportunities in the reproduction of living things, one
          kind does not beget another.  If a species ever does cross, the offspring cannot
          reproduce.  The pattern for all life is the pattern of the parentage.

          This is demonstrated in so many obvious ways, even an ordinary mind should
          understand it.  Surely no one with reverence for God could believe that His children
          evolved from slime or from reptiles.  (Although one can easily imagine that those
          who accept the theory of evolution don't show much enthusiasm for genealogical
          research!)  The theory of evolution, and it is a theory, will have an entirely different
          dimension when the workings of God in creation are fully revealed.

Let us make man [not a separate man, but a complete man, which is husband and wife]
in our image, after our likeness; and it was so." (Moses 2:26.)  What a beautiful
partnership!  Adam and Eve were married for eternity by the Lord.  Such a marriage
extends beyond the grave.  All peoples should call for this kind of marriage.

I.   Eleazar Ben Asher Ha-Levi, was a Medieval collector of ancient record
     sources, "who lived somewhere in the Rhine Provinces at the end of the
     thirteenth and the beginning of the fourteenth century."  Moses Gaster, Ph.D.,
     translated the first part of this Bodleian Library (Oxford) ms., titled:
     Sepher Ha-Zikhronot.  There are minute descriptions of the descendants
     of Noah and the records state exactly how many children each of the Patriarchs
     had, beginning with Adam and Eve, including names of the wives of each of
     the Biblical personages.  For example, "Adam begat three sons and three
     daughters, Cain and his twin wife Qalmana, Abel and his twin wife Deborah,

     after he had begotten Seth, lived 700 years, and there were eleven sons

                  The language taught by Noah to his posterity, was distorted
                  during the construction of the first Tower of Babel.  Secret signs,
                  developed to identify groups of individuals, (within the different
                  classes of workers having various levels of skills required in
                  building the complex structure), could have initiated confusion,
                  with disagreement and labor unrest concerning any unequal work
                  compensation.  God, by the withdrawal of His spirit, caused the
                  scattering of the posterity of Japheth.  The Book of Mormon,
                  (another Testament of Jesus Christ), in Ether 1: 6-37, confirms
                  migration of families returning back to the Western Hemisphere:

[2344 B.C.]  Archbishop James Ussher calculated the Flood date: 2349 B.C.
Moses informs us that Noah lived after the flood 350 years; making him
950 years old when he died (Gen. 9:28-29).  Noah was 84 years old when
Enos died, 176 when Cainan died, 234 when Mahalaleel died, 366 when
Jared died, 595 when Lamech died, and 600 when Methuselah died.  We
can see from this that Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Methuselah,
Lamech, and Noah all lived on the earth at the same time; and that Enos,
Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Methuselah and Lamech, were all acquainted
with both Adam and Noah.

Research Notes:
A.  Louis Bourguet (1678-1742), listed in Dictionary of Scientific Biography,
     Vol. XV, published by the American Council of Learned Societies, made a
     philological investigation of the Etruscan alphabet (ancient pre-Roman Italy),
     and was convinced it derived from ancient Hebrew.  He studied Hebrew and
     the Mishnah with a Rabbi.  Louis Bourguet believed in the common origin of
     all peoples and languages and questioned the presumed great age and isolation
     of the people of China.  He declared that the great world wide Flood was but
     the amplification of normal processes and the "exceptional convergence,
     ordained by God, of ordinary causes."  Louis Bourguet explored fossil sites
     throughout Europe, suggesting they were from animal and vegetable origins.
     The Testimony of Archaeology notes: "Both the Hebrew, the Samaritan,
     the Greek writings current in Palestine during the two centuries before
     Christ, and the old Babylonian traditions, assert a transmission of writings
     about creation down from the beginning of time to Enoch and Noah."
     The kept genealogical pedigrees therefore suggest language origination
     and later distortions of a pure universal language that began to fragment
     with population movements and family group isolation, in the time period
     of circa 2944 B.C. to 1994 B.C. and later.  This is what credible written
     evidence suggests, within the created and preserved ancient genealogies.

B.  Biblical statements concerning the earth being corrupt, with all flesh
     upon the earth being corrupted, are mentioned during the time of the
     Patriarch Noah, 2944 to 1994 B.C.  There were giants on the earth
     in those days that attempted to take away the life of Noah, indicating
     from Holy Scripture, the time frame for the worldwide culmination of
     the development and mutation of dinosaurs, plants and other distorted,
     abnormally deformed creatures.  The Flood At Noah’s Time appears as
     a gift from God, a baptism of the whole earth, to save all mankind and
     all flesh also, from genetic destruction and deformed mutations.

     "There is definite evidence that at one time, and I am convinced it
     was in antediluvian days since the time of Adam, the climate of the
     earth was just as Elder Parley P. Pratt and President John Taylor
     have described it.  Evidence is found in the Arctic that tropical, or
     semi-tropical plants, grew there in abundance.  The frozen animals
     spoken of by Sir Henry H. Howorth were frozen at the time of the
     flood when the climatic conditions of the earth were changed . . . ."

     The journal Nature news, published online on 31 May 2006, notes
     that a "core of sediment pulled from the bottom of the Arctic Ocean
     has confirmed" (that at some period in the past), "the North Pole
     was as warm as a balmy summer day." . . . "it also seems that the
     North Pole began to cool at about the same time as the Antarctic.
     This timing suggests that climate was being driven by a global factor,
     such as atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases, rather than some-
     thing more local, such as geological upheaval."  . . . "the atmosphere
     at the time was exceptionally rich in greenhouse gases . . . amplified
     by an additional factor — possibly heat-trapping stratospheric clouds
     or hurricane-induced ocean mixing."  Excluding the incorrect time
     periods, scientific confirmation is given of an abrupt worldwide Flood.
     CBS SCI-TECH online News, 31 May 2006, includes: "Imagine a world
     where there are dense sequoia trees and cypress trees like in Florida
     that ring the Arctic Ocean . . . Researchers are not sure what caused
     the sudden boost of carbon dioxide that set the greenhouse effect on
     broil.  Possible culprits could be huge releases of methane from the
     ocean, gigantic continent-sized burning of trees, or lots of volcanic
     eruptions. "

     "We are led to believe, then, that in the beginning the mountains
     were not as high as they are now . . . When the valleys are exalted
     it will be the natural result of the mountains being debased or made
     low.  In this way the earth will be restored to its primitive condition."

     All human society was without affection, and they ^bhated their own blood.
     Among all the workmanship of God's hands, there has never been such
     great ^bwickedness.  The ^asons of God saw the daughters of men, that they

     words, men who were baptized into the ancient church, rejected their own
     priesthood responsibilities, intentionally marrying wives with attractive,

     of Japhet's son Gomer, the father of Riphath . . . from whom afterwards came
     the Colonies . . . that first inhabited Great Britain and Ireland . . .  Mention is
     also made of Japhet's son Javan, the father of Dodanim or Rodanim, who
     dwelt in the south and east of France.  The Chronicles of Jerahmeel, page 58,
     notes "And Faneg, son of Dodanim, was the first to ride the ships of the sea";
     the children of Dodanim, Iteb, Beath, and Faneg.  Milesian ancestrial records
     show Magog, not Dodanim, as the father of Baath, Jobhath and Fathochta.
     It is obvious some creative individual (s) in the past, tried to establish Biblical
     connections to Ireland's historical records, using apparent Irish pedigree names.
     External evidence from non Irish sources, historically compared with the ancient
     Irish pedigree's internal evidence, eliminates earlier Japhetic connections.
     A study of Irish source records, includes the "Line of Heremon", from Baoth
     to Milesius, which appears in fact as an anti-Semitic rewriting of Biblical text,
     using Bible analogy into a "gentile" pedigree; such as "In his youth Gaodhal
     was stung in the neck by a serpent and was immediately brought to Moses,
     who by laying his rod upon the wounded place instantly cured him . . ."  Niul
     being "invited into Egypt by Pharaoh the King; who gave him the land of Campus
     Cyruset, near the Red Sea, to inhabit" is an apparent rerun of Abraham going
     down into Egypt.  This carries down in the recorded pedigree of Lamhfionn, for
     "Ireland, which was the place destined for their future and lasting abode and
     settlement; and that not they but their posterity after three hundred years should
     arrive there."  Thus, a disjointed rewrite of Abraham's journey and promise to
     him and his posterity, to possess the land of Canaan, to which they later returned,
     or the Exodus when Moses was 80 years old.

     of his father Adam, who was the first man.  Abraham, when speaking of the holy
     priesthood which he obtained from Melchizedek, notes that: "It was ^aconferred
     upon me from the fathers; it came down from the fathers, from the beginning of
     time, yea, even from the beginning, or before the foundation of the earth, down

A.  R. H. Charles, D. Litt., D.D., discusses The Book of Jubilees, in the
     book: The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament in English
     published in 1913.  He mentions it was written in Hebrew by a Pharisee,
     between 109 B.C. and 105 B.C., largely based on earlier books and traditions.
     The word: Tina = Tanais, or Don, appears in Chapter 8, verses 12, 16, 25, 28;
     also, Chapter 9, verses 2 and 7, relating to the divisions and subdivisions of
     land amongst the children and grandchildren of Noah.

     "And there came forth on the writing as Shem's lot, the middle of the earth,
     which he should take as an inheritance for himself and for his sons for the
     generations of eternity, from the middle of the mountain range of Rafa
     [Ural Mountains], from the mouth of the water from the river Tina, and his
     portion goes towards the west through the midst of this river, and it extends

     bordering on the Red Sea, and all the waters of the desert close to the
     tongue of the sea which looks towards Egypt, all the land of Lebanon
     and Sanir and Amana to the border of the Euphrates."

     Since the Biblical genealogies show patriarchal descent as: Noah to Shem,
     to Arphaxad, to Salah, to Eber (the Hebrews), to Peleg, to Reu, to Serug,
     to Nahor, to Terah and finally to Abram [Abraham]; the promises given
     to Abraham, to have the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession,
     appear to be a reconfirmation of the legal heir descent, the patriarchal
     right of inheritance, granted by Shem to Arphaxad/Arpashshad, his son;
     Arphaxad being the 6^th great-grandfather of Abraham.

B.  Merchant activities of the Jews, back to the time of Abraham, are
     noted in the Journal of Near Eastern Studies (JNES), Vol. XVII
     (Jan-Oct 1958).  In the article "Abraham and the Merchants of Ura",
     Cyrus H. Gordon mentions that for some strange reason, little if any
     attention has been paid to the repeated statement in Genesis that the
     patriarchs were in Palestine for trading.  The patriarchs went abroad
     to do business, as Abraham comes from beyond the Euphrates, visits
     Egypt, fights with kinglets from as far off as Elam; i.e., it is clear that
     Abraham was a merchant prince.  Settling down in a foreign area would
     be part of merchant activities of the extended patriarchal family, to
     provide a sure chain of command, with bona fide and honest individuals.

     Harran [Haran], was the place of Abraham's first settlement on leaving
     Ur of the Chaldees, and was a trading center of great importance, as noted
     in Assyrian inscriptions.  [Also called Charran.]  Abraham's "wandering
     was not nomadism in the Bedouin sense, but was an occupational feature
     of tamkarutum, 'trading abroad'.  The patriarchal narratives, far from
     reflecting Bedouin life, are highly international in their milieu, in a setting
     where a world order enabled men to travel far and wide for business enterprise."

     "Likewise, little is known of the women who married the sons of Jacob,
     though we know that Joseph married an Egyptian, Asenath, who bore him
     Manasseh and Ephraim (Genesis 41:45, 50–52).⁸  Joseph's half-brother
     Judah had three sons by a Canaanite wife named Shuah and twin sons by
     Tamar, whose ancestry is unknown (Genesis 38:2–30).  Of the half-Canaanite
     sons, only one (Shelah) lived long enough to have posterity, but his mtDNA
     would be unlike that of his half-brothers, Pharez and Zarah, unless their mothers
     were sisters (Genesis 46:12; Numbers 26:19–21).  From Pharez descended
     Salmon, who married the Canaanite woman Rahab, who had been spared
     with her father's household during the Israelite destruction of the city of
     Jericho in Joshua's day.  Their son was Boaz, who married the Moabitess
     Ruth, who became the great-grandmother of King David and, consequently,
     of all the kings of Judah and of Jesus Christ himself (Ruth 4:18–22;
     Matthew 1:2–16).  While most of the kings of Judah from whom Christ is
     descended married women of the same tribe or of other Israelite tribes,
     this is not true of all of them.  For example, Rehoboam, son of Solomon,
     was born of a woman named Naamah, who was an Ammonitess (1 Kings 14:21,
     31; 2 Chronicles 12:13).  Genesis 40:10 informs us that Simeon had a Canaanite
     wife, but nothing is said of the other wives of Jacob's sons or their origins,
     although it seems likely that they also married outside Abraham's kin group.
     The children and grandchildren of Jacob who are mentioned in the biblical
     account number seventy, but this does not include daughters and granddaughters.
     Although nothing is specifically said on the matter, it is not unreasonable to
     assume that Jacob's people included servants and their families as well.⁹
     One thing, however, seems certain: all of Jacob's grandchildren inherited
     their mtDNA from their mothers, who were likely non-Israelite."

         - Dedication  A Discourse by President Heber C. Kimball, delivered
         in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, April 6, 1857 . . . I was in a place
         in England in which I felt very curious; but I did not know at the time
         what it meant.  I went through a town called Cha[d]tburn [Chatburn],
         beyond Clitheroe, [Lancashire, England].  I went through the streets

of a relatively small proportion of the Israelites (27,290, according to the annals), so it is
quite possible that a sizable population remained that could identify themselves as Israelites,

     invalidate the documentary hypothesis theories, traditionally known as:
     J, E, P, and D; for the Torah and the Deuteronomy history, from Joshua
     to Kings.  Some modern historians incorrectly state that the Torah
     was gradually recorded as the Hebrew Bible, between the 5th century
     B.C. and the 2nd century B.C.  Clearly, internal source evidence from

     seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his
     course were twenty and four thousand.

     eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and

     1 Chr. 27: 20  Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah:

     "From the time of the revolt, the history of Ephraim is in two senses the history
     of the kingdom of Israel, since not only did the tribe become a kingdom, but the

     2 Chr. 28: 7  And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king’s son,
     and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.
     2 Chr. 28: 12  Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the
     son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of
     Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from
     the war,

     and took a number of cities including some of the strongholds of Ephraim
     and all the land of Naphtali and carried off other captives," even the Reubenites,

     and unto Habor, and Hora, and to the river Gozan, unto this day."

     "The distant land of Beth-Khumri....the whole of its inhabitants I carried away."
     (Ragozin: The Story of Assyria, p 232.)  "Assyrian inscriptions record, in the fifth
     year of his reign (739 BC), a victory over Azariah (Uzziah), king of Judah, whose
     achievements are described in 2 Chronicles 26:6-15.  In 733 BC his armies
     conquered Philistia on the Mediterranean sea coast, destroyed Damascus and
     occupied most of Israel, with its northern regions becoming Assyrian provinces."
     "These events were recorded in the Bible, which describes how Tiglath-Pileser III
     defeated Pekah, king of Israel, and Rezin, king of the Aramaeans, who had allied
     against him.  He executed Rezin, and Pekah was murdered by Hoshea, who took
     control of the rump Israelite kingdom as a vassal paying tribute to the Assyrians.
     (2 Kings 15:29; 16:5-9; 1 Chronicles 5:6, 26)  Ahaz (known to the Assyrians as
     Yahu-khazi), the king of Judah, was also forced to pay tribute to the Assyrian
     conqueror (2 Kings 16:10-16)."

     "The plan will be to trace the story of the children of Ephraim down through
     the captivity to the point where their history merges with that of the tribes
     which settled northern Europe and became the progenitors of the people of
     Scandinavia, Great Britain, Germany, France, etc."  Early Jewish Writings:

     Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and in Habor by the river

     ". . .  A rising in Ashdod, supported by Judah, Moab, Edom and Egypt was
     suppressed, and Ashdod became an Assyrian province. . . . Under his rule
     the Assyrians completed the defeat of the Kingdom of Israel, capturing
     Samaria after a siege of three years and dispersing the inhabitants." . . .
     "During the reign of the last king of the northern kingdom, Hosea 2 Kings 10
     the Assyrians invaded in 722/721 B.C.E. (initially under Shalmaneser V and
     finally under Sargon II) when they established complete control over the capital
     city and the remainder of the northern kingdom.  The fragment of a stela with
     an Assyrian inscription attributed to Sargon II was found on the eastern slope
     of the acropolis testifying to their presence.  In addition, according to inscriptions
     from Sargon’s palace at Khorsabad (Dur-Sharrukin), the inhabitants of Samaria
     were deported to Assyria.  The remains of a wall relief in Room 5 of Sargon’s
     palace is thought to depict Samaria and its defeated defenders."

     "In the beginning of my reign I besieged, I took by the help of the god Shamash,
     who gives me victory over my enemies, the city of Samaria (ir-Samirina). 27,280
     of its inhabitants I carried away . . . I took them to Assyria and put into their
     places people whom my hand had conquered." (Ragozin, p 247; Sayce: 'Ancient

     "On the Nineveh marbles the story can be read that a people called Esak-ska
     (cf. Sakai, Saki-suna, Saxons) rebelled against the Assyrians about 670 B.C.
     or nearly fifty years after the captivity."

     of the heathen, and go forth into a further country, where never mankind dwelt,
     that there they might keep their statutes, which they never kept in their own land.
     And they entered in at the narrow passages of the Euphrates.  For the Most High

     For through that country there was a great way to go, even of a year and a half.

     "From this area north of the Black Sea two great general waves of migration spread
     over northern Europe.  The first was that of the Cimmerians or Kelts; the second that
     of the Scythians.  From the first group have arisen the Cimbri who attacked Rome, the
     Cymry or Welsh descended from the ancient Britons, the Bretons of Brittany in France,
     the Gaelic Scots and the Irish.  Some branches of this race settled early in Scandinavia.
     From the Scythian stock have sprung the Franks, the Gothic tribes which overthrew

     "The eminent Jewish commentator and historian, Moses Maimonides --who lived
     in the 13th century--in a manuscript commentary on the Old Testament, reviews
     the blessings which Jacob pronounced upon his sons.  He speaks of a certain
     Antenor, King of the Cimmerians, who lived 443 B.C.  This Antenor he termed
     'the chief Prince of Ephraim.'  In Hebrew genealogy this would mean he was
     probably oldest son of the oldest son down from Ephraim through Elishama
     and Joshua in patriarchal order of descent."   . . .  The Children of Ephraim and
     Early Franks "It is now impossible, without more knowledge of those early days,
     to either prove or disprove the links of this ancient record.  It stands, like some
     tall pillar amid the ruins of a once glorious temple, the sole remaining evidence

     "From Scandinavia to the Baltic and thence southward, along the valley of the
     river Dnieper in Russia down to its mouth in the Black Sea, these mounds may
     be followed, marking the path of migration of some powerful people." . . .
     "According to Du Chaillu, the ornaments and relics found in these mounds near
     the Black Sea are 'remarkably alike' and 'exactly similar' to those found in the
     mounds of Scandinavia and the Baltic. (The Viking Age, Vol 1. pp 216, 299.)"
     . . . "The Russian Archaeological Society has made extensive excavations into
     these mounds and has unearthed hundreds of epitaphs of tombs, some of them
     of great antiquity, going back to pre-Christian times.  The inscriptions are in
     the Hebrew language, and give indisputable proof of the identity of the people
     who made them." . . . "The mounds of the Black Sea region, of Scandinavia,
     and of elsewhere in Europe are the way marks and high heaps of Ephraim."

     President Brigham Young, spoke in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City,
     on May 31, 1863.  . . . "The sons of Ephraim are wild and uncultivated,
     unruly, ungovernable.  The spirit in them is turbulent and resolute; they
     are the Anglo-Saxon race, and they are upon the face of the whole earth,
     bearing the spirit of rule and dictation, to go forth from conquering to conquer.
     They search wide creation and scan every nook and corner of this earth to
     find out what is upon and within it.  I see a congregation of them before me
     to-day.  No hardship will discourage these men; they will penetrate the
     deepest wilds and overcome almost insurmountable difficulties to develop
     the treasures of the earth, to further their indomitable spirit for adventure."

     Chronicles of the Saxons, show that when they invaded England in A.D. 400,
     an appeal was "sent back to Scythia for reinforcements", to an area south-
     east of the Black Sea; an area from which Germans and Celts had migrated
     westward, to the coast of Europe.  "Archaeologists discovered in [A.D.] 2000
     that Scythians landed several miles outside St Austell in Cornwall and their
     presence had an influence on the Cornish language." . . . "from descendants
     of these tribes down to individuals living in typical nations of Europe; from
     these persons the various lines will be traced till they unite in a Puritan emigrant
     who sailed for New England, there to become a progenitor of numerous families
     among us."
