From page 520:  TINNEY
1.  Jacob Tinney, 1. was born in A.D. 1793, probably in Cornwall, England.
He married Jane, who was born about A. D. 1795.  They lived in Otterham, Cornwall,
England in 1835.  Jacob died at Coxford, St. Gennys, Stratton, Cornwall, England on
01 Oct 1877.  He was 84 years old.  His home at the time of his death was in
Launceston, Otterham, Cornwall.  Jane died 15 Apr 1878 at Taddyport, St. Gennys,
Stratton, Cornwall.  She was 83 years old.  Her death was reported by
Ann Baker.

The name in Cornwall was spelled "Tinney".   However, the Cornish accent spoken
by the family made the "i" sound like an "e" and Charles, the son of Daniel, started
spelling the name: "Tenney"Charles lived with the Stephen Tinney family and was
a "big brother" to Levi.  Thus Levi also started using the "e" spelling so the name is
now spelled either Tinney or Tenney.

     11.  John Tinney, 2, (Jacob 1) was born in Cornwall, England and was the first of
the Tinney family to move to the United States.  He lived in the state of
New York and maybe in southern Michigan, [USA].  His wife died and left him
with two small daughters.  John left the children with friends and relatives when
he returned to England for a visit. . . .
                 111.  Addie Tinney, 3, (Jacob 1, John 2) was raised by Mr. Trowbridge of
the Loche & Trowbridge Publishing Company ("Toledo Blade"),
Toledo, Ohio, [USA].  She married George Hammond and died
                         about A.D. 1920.
                 112.  Mary Jane Tinney, 3, (Jacob 1, John 2) was raised by her uncle,
Stephen Tinney.  She married William Caverhill and lived in
Iowa Falls, Iowa.  Mary Jane died about A.D. 1922.
     12.  Stephen Tinney, 2, (Jacob 1) was born in Cornwall, England and later moved
to the United States.  He lived at Strongs Prairie, Wisconsin before the Civil War.
            During 1864-1865, he served in Company "E: of the 16th . . .
